
NEW FOR TPU2021: The Elite Racer Program provides a direct pathway for elite and sponsored athletes to receive a heavily discounted or complimentary race entry. The eligibility, benefits and rules to the program are below.
Eligibility Criteria
Athletes who qualify are eligible to receive a discount based on the criteria below:
- 100% - First place male/female finish at TPU
- 75% - First place male/female finish at another fully self-supported stage race (>150miles)
- 50% - First place male/female finish at a 100 mile or longer trail race
- 25% - First place male/female finish at a 50 mile or longer trail race
All athletes are encouraged to apply even if they are in between categories. Any application that is submitted WITHOUT details to official race results will NOT be considered. It is the responsibility of the athlete and/or agent to supply accurate and correct internet links to race results. All qualifying races must be within a three-year period between June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2021. Applications must be received by 30 June of race year for consideration.

- One complimentary or discounted entry into the 6-stage race
- Eligible for 6 UTMB qualifying points and $10k shared prize purse
- VIP access to sponsor giveaways, product sampling, and promotions
- Allocation to elite racer overnight tent(s) while active in race
- Dedicated on-site elite racer coordinator
Rules & Regulations
The following rules and regulations apply to all entries through the elite racer program.
- Meeting eligibility criteria does NOT guarantee race entry. Discount applies to full entry price ($3k for 6-stage).
- Applications will be processed on a continual basis and allocation based on race caps.
- Athlete must attend pre-race meeting, medical and equipment checks to maintain eligibility for race and prize money.
- Athlete must participate in scheduled filming/interviews before, during and after the race.
- Athlete must document experience through a minimum of 6 social media posts (e.g. YouTube, blog, Instagram, Facebook, or similar).
- Athlete acknowledges that airfare, private hotel or transportation is NOT provided through the elite racer program. *Note - group hotels and transportation are included in entry. We make every effort to group elite racers together - separate from general classification.
- Any athlete who has ever been convicted of a doping violation by USADA, WADA, IAAF, etc. and thus has served a ban from competition in the past or is currently serving a ban from competition is NOT eligible to compete in the Elite Racer Program.
- Athletes who participate in this competition may be subject to formal drug testing in accordance with USATF procedures. Athletes found, after a disciplinary hearing, to be positive for prohibited substances, or who refuse to be tested will be disqualified from this event and may lose eligibility for future competitions. Any prize money payable to an athlete who has tested positive shall be withheld until the final disposition of all disciplinary proceedings. BEWARE: Some prescriptions, over the counter medications and nutritional supplements may contain prohibited substances.
